PRPG — The Pocket Monster RPG

Build your team. Explore the world. Become the champion. PRPG is a fan-made Pokémon-style monster-training RPG that runs completely in your browser: no download, no plugins, nothing to buy. Make an account, pick a starter and you are walking your first route a minute later.

Train

Catch a team of six and raise it: your Pokémon gain experience from every battle, learn new moves as they level, and evolve when they are ready — by level, by stone or through a trade. The ones you leave behind wait in the PC, and the Pokédex keeps score.

Explore

Walk through towns, routes and caves with the arrow keys, WASD or a click. Every route has its own encounters, every town its Pokémon Center and Poké Mart, and badges open the way to the next part of the region. Rare variants — shiny, dark, golden, frozen and shadow — can turn up in any patch of grass.

Battle

Turn-based battles against wild Pokémon, trainers and gym leaders, with accuracy, PP, critical hits, priority moves and status conditions like the handheld games. Win badges, earn money and come back stronger.

Make friends

You are never alone in the world: see who is online, chat, trade Pokémon, buy and sell on the market, and challenge another trainer to a PvP battle.

Community

You are never alone in PRPG — and not outside it either. The community runs a Discord server for questions, trades, raid planning and update news; the moderators you see with a MOD tag in the game are there too, and it is where you can reach us even when the game is down.

Who makes this

PRPG is a hobby project, written in plain PHP and vanilla JavaScript so it runs on ordinary shared hosting. It is built in spare time and it keeps growing, so expect rough edges here and there — and features that appear between one day and the next.

A fan project

PRPG is not related to or associated with Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc., The Pokémon Company or any other rights holder. Everything Pokémon-related belongs to its owners; the details are on the Legal information page.
