Legal information

Before anything else, PRPG is a fan site. It is made by a fan, for every other Pokémon fan out there to enjoy. With that said, there are some important things to note.

PRPG is in no way related to or associated with: Game Freak, Creatures Inc., The Pokémon Company, Nintendo of America, Nintendo of Japan, Warner Bros., 4Kids Entertainment, Wizards of the Coast or any other company that owns rights to Pokémon.

Copyright

Pokémon, all Pokémon names, all Pokémon images and related names used here are copyright: Game Freak, Nintendo of America, Nintendo of Japan, Creatures Inc. and their respective owners. National syndication rights of Pokémon are owned by Warner Bros. The Pokémon Trading Card Game is copyrighted by Wizards of the Coast, Hasbro. PRPG tries extremely hard to avoid violating the “fair use” policies covering these materials.

Artwork and game data

The sprites, icons and game data on this site come from publicly available fan resources and remain the property of their respective owners. They are used here for a non-commercial fan project only, and PRPG claims no ownership of them.

The Pokémon sprites of Generations 6 to 9 are fan-made pixel art by the Smogon Sprite Project; they and the menu icons of those Pokémon come from Pokémon Showdown. The battle sprites of the Gym Leaders, Kahunas and Trial Captains of Kalos, Alola, Galar and Paldea also come from Pokémon Showdown and were drawn by fans: Gnomowladny (Viola, Korrina, Ramos, Valerie, Olympia, Wulfric and Hala), kyledove (Grant, Katy, Brassius, Iono, Kofu, Larry, Ryme and Tulip), Beliot419 (Ilima, Lana, Kiawe, Olivia, Sophocles, Nanu and Hapu), Brumirage (Milo, Nessa, Kabu, Bea, Opal, Gordie, Piers and Raihan) and ZacWeavile (Grusha). The badges, Z-Crystals and VS portraits of those leaders come from Bulbagarden Archives. The characters they show are © Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and GAME FREAK inc.; like everything else here, they are used for a non-commercial fan project only.

Nothing is sold

PRPG is free to play. There is no shop with real money, no subscription and no in-game item that can be bought — the money in the game is game money.

Your account and your data

An account needs a username and a password, and no real name. An e-mail address is optional: if you add one, it is used for one thing only - sending you a link when you forgot your password - and nobody else sees it. The password is never stored as text, only as a hash. The server keeps your game progress (your Pokémon, items, badges and where you are), the chat messages you send, and your IP address alongside security events such as logging in and registering, which is used to block abuse. Nothing is sold or passed on to anyone else, and there are no advertising or tracking scripts on the site.

To balance the game, the server also keeps count, per trainer and per day, of how long you play, which screens and menus you open, how your battles go and what your Pokémon gain, with a short timeline of what happened (a badge, an evolution, a trade). Only the game's administrator sees these numbers. Your Trainer Card shows other trainers whether you are online and on how many days you have played - not your hours. The timeline is deleted after 30 days; after 60 days the per-trainer counts are merged into totals without your name.

Takedown requests

If you hold the rights to material used here and you want it removed, mail legal@prpg.nl and it will be taken down. The same address works for a request to delete your account.

No warranty

PRPG is a hobby project and is offered as it is: the game can be offline, progress can be lost and features can change or disappear while it is being built.
